Particle Collisions - Ep. 3/3: Inside a particle accelerator

Show the full video description ›

Making particles collide inside the Large Hadron Collider sounds simple: point two beams at each other. In reality, the beams have a complex structure and must be focused with extraordinary precision. In the third episode of Particle Collisions, we look inside the LHC to see how the beams are structured and what determines how many collisions happen each second. We also explore the challenges that come with increasing luminosity, and why we still want to push it even further with the HiLumi LHC. #HiLumiLHC
