New Trials Back Quickly Approved Drugs for Primary Biliary Cholangitis
The Brief
- New trial data show elafibranor (Iqirvo) and seladelpar (Livdelzi) normalized alkaline phosphatase (ALP) in the vast majority of primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) patients with elevated ALP after an incomplete response.
- Both drugs are already approved for PBC; the new trials back their use in this patient group.
Why it matters
Clinicians treating PBC patients who respond incompletely to initial therapy get trial evidence that these approved drugs can bring ALP levels back to normal.
